Meet Griffin

I'm Griffin O'Brien. I'm based in Monmouth County, New Jersey, and I work with individuals and families across the country who are facing addiction or a mental health crisis. Whatever stage you're at, my goal is the same: to help you take the next step with someone steady in your corner.

Why I do this work

I've been sober since 2015, and I've stayed close to the recovery community ever since. Over the years I've been closely involved in other people's sobriety, and I've seen how much it changes things when someone has real support at the right moment, and when their family has support too.

Why "Upstream"

A river is easiest to change near its source. The same is true of addiction and mental health crises: the earlier a family gets support, the more options it has, and the more hope there is. We named the company for that idea.

How we work

We listen first. We treat the person who is struggling with dignity, and we treat the family as people who need support too. We don't promise outcomes. We promise honesty, care and a clear plan.
